With more than 25 years of experience in dentistry, Ian L. Withers, DDT is the Founder and Inventor of BiteSoft®.

His journey with BiteSoft® began not in a laboratory, but through years of working directly with patients.
​
While treating hundreds of adult orthodontic patients, Ian encountered many people experiencing headaches, teeth grinding, and jaw clenching (bruxism). He recognized that traditional full-arch night guards could be bulky and uncomfortable for some patients.

Ian believed there had to be a better way.
From a Dental Problem to an Innovative Solution
Driven by his passion for helping people affected by bruxism, Ian set out to create a more comfortable and effective approach to dental protection.
He designed a smaller, more comfortable appliance intended to prevent the back teeth from clenching during sleep.

Unlike traditional, bulky full-arch night guards, the BiteSoft® design was created with comfort and function in mind—helping protect the teeth and jaw joints while giving patients a more comfortable experience throughout the night.
What began as a solution to a problem Ian repeatedly saw in his patients became the foundation of BiteSoft®.
A Vision That Became BiteSoft®
Ian's dedication to innovation led to an important milestone in 2006, when his innovative BiteSoft® design received a patent and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.

What started with one dentist's desire to create a better solution has since grown into a dental product used by thousands of people.
Over the years, BiteSoft® has helped people manage the effects of bruxism while protecting their smiles and working toward more comfortable nights.
